Reflective Essay- Life Soundtrack Autobiography<3
One of the literary response assignments I completed is the Life Soundtrack Autobiography. In this assignment, I chose seven songs for seven story elements. Those songs I chose had to have a meaning to my life in some way.I had some strengths and some weakness while processing this assignment. My strengths was the use of my ideas. The things I said in this paper were something new. My biggest weakness was my organizations. The way I put my sentences was poor, I thought that my paper sounded good but it gave Tammy a lot of confusion. If I were to do this again I would of put my organizations in better places. From this assignment, I learned my biggest strengths and weaknesses. All in all, my grade turned out be a 92 glorious percent!

The Art Of Persuasion<3
|
This was a whole unit test. In this test, I combined 3 words and describe how those three words go together, that was my favorite part. Also, I explained what each persuasive appeal does, in which I was excellent! Most of the test was a multiple choice questions. In this Unit Test, I surprised myself scoring a 93% being the highest in my class. I had many strengths in this test. First, I did great describing the names on the persuasive appeal. Then, combing three words was my second strength, I got 6/6 on combining words together in which I chose to be my favorite part of this test. My weaknesses in this test were choosing answers in the multiple choice questions. I didn't do very well on choosing multiple choice questions because I didn't read the question carefully and examining the choices of the questions. I learned so much about Language Arts last semester that is why I scored a 93% on this whole unit test.

Ayak's Descriptive Essay<3
This is a descriptive essay I completed in August 30, 2013. In this paper, I described weather, nature and surroundings of nature. I described many things about the weather in four different seasons. Also, I described the time I was out moose hunting, I wrote about a lot of things I heard, saw, tasted, and touched. My weakness in this assignment was my use of grammar. I didn't place commas and periods in the right spots. My strengths in this assignment was the way I described my topic. My grade for this paper turned out an 85% which I was okay with. From the comments I was getting, I learned that I was not placing my grammar in the right spots but now I am a good grammar speller. :)
Persuasive Essay
When I wrote this essay, I have a strength that I always have when I write papers, which is the use of my voice. I got a 6/6 on that. My other strength on this was my counter argument, which was a 5/5. My weaknesses during this assignment was my organization. This year all the papers I wrote had bad organization. Also, my three confirmations were weak. I learned that I really need to improve my organizations on my papers.
Six Word Memoir
During this assignment, I had the strength of choosing my six words easily without having to pull my hair out. Also, I believe I was able to choose the picture that will represent my six words easily too, which was the picture of my best cousin, Carolyn and I that was taken in Anchorage this past April. I cannot recall nor can Tammy, what weakness I had during this assignment. I'm pretty sure she said something about those 2 points I didn't earn. I got a 38/40 which is a 95%. I learned that I know I can choose my six words without thinking so hard about it.
Yupik Journal |
When I am writing my journals in yugtun, I have the same strength of writing the whole time given. Since we began school back in August, when ever we do our Yupik journals, I write at least half a page or more, which has been my average and my strength. I really don't have any weaknesses for writing a yupik journal because i know so much in yupik. i don't wish to have done something different with how i do my journals because its that same routine i used to write my journals. If I keep writing the whole time i get a 5/5 grade.

Research Paper
This assignment was about choosing a war related topic to research about. We looked online for that topic we chose. My topic was about international conflicts. For a strength during this experiment, I got a 13/15 on including current examples of conflicts and giving support for those examples. Organization was another strength I had during this assignment, in which was a 6/6. Speaking of weaknesses in this assignment, background of international conflict was not that bad, but I earned a 9/15. My overall grade in this assignment turned out to be a 79% which I accepted. I learned that there is so much current conflicts in the world today, which surprised me because I didn't think that much trouble in the world was going on.
Lit Circles
|
Tammy gives the high school students a book to read at home everyday until they finish the book. We have daily Edmodo posts to write about our book. At least two times, we meet to talk about the book with the students who read the same book as us, and that meeting is called a lit circle. Each person in a lit circle has a role for the book. There is a person who is a summarizer, a connector, a literary luminary person, and a discussion director. Most students have the strength of giving positive feedback to the group or the person who is talking. Some students are not really prepared when we have our lit circles which is a weakness that needs to improve. And each time we have a lit cirlce, grades for students varies. We have practiced many times to give positive feedback to the group, and this is something lit circles have taught me. |
